About The Artwork

Print Type: Signed, Digital Innova Art Fiba-Print This was shot on Brighton Beach, England for The Jam Setting Sons Album cover. It was commissioned by Paul Weller. A color shot was used for the cover. I was arrested for defacing public property. We had silk screen printed a Union Jack which we stapled to a deckchair. The authorities were not impressed at all. This image has now become an iconic image which documents a great moment in British Punk Rock and the end of theThatcher era. Andy started out as a music photographer working as a staff photographer on Record Mirror and Sounds and freelancing to NME, Melody Maker, The Face Magazine and most record companies during the burgeoning punk scene in the mid-1970s. As a friend and cohort of many who went on to become the biggest names in punk, Rosen had unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to the musicians and artists of London’s early punk scene. The images were recently exhibited (Jun 11- Jul 19, 2015) for the first time in 30 years, at the Proud Gallery, Camden Town. The last exhibit was at Britain's prestigious Photographers Gallery in 1984. Most have rarely been published or seen. Andy's images are collected by collectors from around the world including Peter Morton, owner of the Hard Rock Cafe and the Hard Rock Hotels. This image and a number of images currently hang in both the Hard Rock Cafe's and the Hotels. More info: http://andy-rosen.format.com/work https://500px.com/andyrosen
