A mask in the fog, a mask like a UFO from outer space. Whenever I look at masks from old different cultures, I have the feeling that these are cosmic creatures! The mask is a mystery, a secret, a riddle. Behind the mask is the truth that comes out like light from the eye.

Hi. My name is Tamer Mallak. I am a fine art photographer and digital artist. Father of three children, I live in Minsk-Belarus. I was born in the country where the first civilizations in the world were born, this is Syria, in its capital Damascus. My creative journey began when I was little. I loved drawing cartoon characters. After leaving school, I entered the Faculty of Fine Art in Damascus, and there I received my first professional knowledge in art. Then I decided to study cinematography. Entered the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, and received a diploma bachelor as a director of photography. I have directed a lot of films and also worked as a director. My path as a conceptual fine art photographer. Started in 2012. The tragedy in my native country of Syria, I mean the war, had a very strong effect on me, it was very painful inside of me, as it is for all people. Through photomontage, I began to make various artworks that cover the war in Syria. It was like an outlet for emotions. Further, friends and close people appreciated my Artworks. I started covering different topics. I think the main source of inspiration in everything is love. This is a powerful engine. If we can keep love always, then we can do everything qualitatively. Love gives desire and desire makes us work, and work gives results. Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, a Persian Sufi poet of the 13th century says: "Love is not afraid, even when you are in a sea of fear" I love to read philosophy and I think in life the same way. I try in my artworks to visualize what I read in different books, thoughts that I like. I also like to visualize social issues, political ones. These works are published in Arabic electronic newspapers. I really enjoy looking for a visually interesting language to express. Photography, photomontage and digital art gives me the freedom to express myself. With the help of photomontage technique (using different photos) I feel the freedom to fly, to combine incompatible things. Through metaphors I try to visualize different ideas. Also, sometimes I create something in 3D if I can’t photograph it, and then I use it in my artwork. I believe that art should ask questions.Valuable art should carry some kind of philosophy or thought or message. A beautiful picture without a concept is just like a beautiful actress on stage without text. I also have a hobby which is playing the guitar. I love Flamenco music very much, it has a very interesting deep character.
