ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Pears are graphic and high contrast with visible streaks of the hand applied photo emulsion. The selenium toned photograph is a lighter brown where the emulsion is applied more thinly. A modern yet old style feel is evident in the work- modern from the visible sections of silver leaf and the movement caused by the streaks caused from the hand applied emulsion and, antique from an almost sepia finish. Pears have been almost a trade mark of my work. Hanging hardware is not included. These type of works will be some of the longest lasting photographs from this era because of the techniques employed.

Davis, from Toronto Canada, formerly exhibited with Marcia Rafelman Fine Arts in Toronto. He has been a professional artist for over 25 years. Inspired by tin types Davis silver and gold leafs canvas and applies photo sensitive emulsion onto this surface, and exposes and develops directly on the surface. The work is of a high gloss finish. Landscapes, still life, and fetish objects are the main subject matter. The works will be some of the longest lasting durable photographs from 21st century because of the technique.
