ABOUT THE ARTWORK
After a short vacation in Aspen CO, we drove back to Colorado Springs. It was October and very cold coming through Independence pass. The scenery was beautiful the entire drive. Just before we hit the top of the pass we saw Independence valley behind us. We drove over the pass, the drove back so I could capture this photo.

My experience with photography started in the San Joaquin Valley of central California. One Saturday morning I saw an ice sickle formed on a dripping hose. I grabbed my mom's 35mm camera and took a photo. Mom didn't know I had taken a photo. It was weeks before she finished the roll and developed the film. I still remember her surprise when she saw the image. It was a great photo! That photo sparked a creative motivation that brings me joy every day. After continuing to take artistic photos for many years, I sold my first professional photo to an advertising agency in 1985. Studio lighting became an intense study for me when my children were growing up. I had lots of fun expressing my creativity, but I don't think my children liked it so much.
