ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Instant Karma is a selection of images from an ongoing, larger portfolio that has transpired spontaneously through utilising the discipline and way of seeing acquired through a background in analogue fine art photography, while using Instagram on an iPhone as a tool. I have recorded this particular selection images in and around Cape Town, South Africa. Using an iPhone as a camera, not working toward any particular theme, has enabled me to work in a free and random manner without the need for carrying a larger piece of photographic equipment. This has been a wonderful way of keeping me in tune with the subject matter I am visually concerned with, whilst still applying my principles of fine art photography. All photographs are printed using original Epson Ultrachrome pigment inks on certifiable Hahnemühle archival cotton rag photo paper, 308 gsm. All photographs are signed, dated and editioned, in pencil just beneath the work. Image size: 300mm x 300mm, Paper size: 340mm x 340mm
