Sometimes with minimal images you don’t get the sense of scale, as you tend to focus on details, zooming in to the main subject to get rid of all the distractions. That’s way I sometimes try to shoot wider, to get all the landscape in the frame: even if it’s more difficult to frame, I find it works really well with the right conditions. I believe it’s the case here, where the clouds in the sky balance the trees at the bottom in a really nice way. The sky is big and prominent, and this helps giving that sense of scale to the trees, and also to remind us that the world is huge, and we’re just sooo small. The original is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Satin 310 gsm 100% Cotton white satin-finish paper and manually signed.
