Art Description

Photography: Digital, Color, Photo on Aluminium.

I was attending a concert at Millennium Park's concert hall in Chicago. As I sat waiting for the music to start, I noticed the symmetry, geometry and vibrance of the red chairs and found it mesmerizing and artistic. I started wondering who will sit in each, what will they hear, see, experience. I snapped this photo with my iPhone hoping it would evoke a sense of calmness because of its continuity, predictability. In our fast changing world there is comfort to be found in certainty: these chairs have been there for a long time, and they just keep going as far as the eye can see, each identical to the next except for the number. This tomato red is the perfect shade of red. The meaning of red is: energy, power, confidence, courage, determination, passion, love. It is a dye sublimation print on aluminum.
