"I am a visual artist who uses a camera to paint images from natural settings. My work embraces the positive value of capturing the natural world but from alternative visual viewpoints because I want my work to be more than just beautiful pictures. I want it to stimulate joy, confusion, mystery, curiosity and deeper intellectual thought.
It's all about enlightening viewers to look beyond the obvious in the natural world. I relish shooting the natural world from unnatural viewpoints: sometimes capturing an image through a macro lens that shows unseen details that present as abstractions, shooting into a water's reflection to become a part of a more whimsical, mysterious world or capturing the many colors that are present in a scene that show the vitality of life.
