About The Artwork
Exploring a farm we stayed at on Islay in Scotland, I discovered a series of greenhouses that made me want to stay a while and take in the colors, the textures, the silence. This image I made captures the quiet rain-kissed green that defines Islay. It is soft and quiet, an image upon which to dream as you sip your morning cup of tea. To reveal the rich tones and textures, I chose to have this image printed on archival cotton rag paper with a matte finish, for a deep sensitivity. It has two-inch borders added to the image size listed. I recommend floating this image on white matboard for a lovely effect, or framing edge to edge in a simple white frame--which invites the viewer the chance to look through a window into a dreamlike, veiled world. This is a companion piece to 'What I saw one morning/2'. While striking as a singular piece, together, these make a stunning presentation, hung side-by-side, approximately 2" apart.
