About The Artwork
The Tien Shan is a high mountain range in Turkestan. With its up to 7500 meter high mountain ranges it is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. The 15th century caravanserai Tash Rabat is located in the southern part of Kyrgyzstan near the border to China. It is located at an altitude of 3100 meters and belongs to the Silk Road. Wild horses are no rarity in this area. The caravanserai was a stopping point and shelter against snow storms and bandits for caravans and travellers.
