ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I started out shooting nudes in early winter; the light was mostly defused by cloud cover then. I had a spare bedroom upstairs that had a plain wall, with natural side light falling through a single window. This day was particularly cold and the heater struggled to warm even this small room. While later working on processing this image in my very cold studio, a French song kept repeating the words “dans les vagues de la vie” (in the waves of life). That was the moment the textures of her rib cage became waves rolling into shore, almost like a drone video I had edited earlier the week.

A quick summary of myself: - I’ve been shooting for over a decade - For the past 7 years, I’ve been specializing in VR filming - I’m a creative who explores various art fields, including NFTs - I always strive to do things differently Photography wasn’t something I planned on pursuing, but it found me early on. Technology sparked a passion that’s driven me ever since. As a young photographer, I wandered through the landscapes of Cape Town, honing my craft and sharpening my perspective. Fine Art, particularly the human form, has always fascinated me. Salvador Dali and the ancient Greeks captured the body in ways that continue to inspire me. French Fine Art photographers, romance, and nature were my early influences, leading me to create "Lentille NU"—meaning "Naked Lens." My goal is to capture quiet, beautiful, and often unnoticed moments of the human body. In today’s world, where over-sexualized imagery is everywhere, I want to show the body’s natural elegance in more thoughtful ways.
