What is real? What is an illusion? Can the illusion speak more powerfully than the “real”? The digital revolution in the arts has provided wonderful tools to create surrealistic imagery. I no longer just take images but rather, make images. I may shoot objects with a final image in mind, or just collect them for my “library” that I draw from when an idea comes to me. Color helps conjure emotions and excites the senses. These images may use one predominant color or a complimentary palette.
The golf cart I was driving was bouncing down a sandy back road on Harbour Island in the Bahamas. Like I'm want to do, I stopped and got out and took an image of the path in front of me. At the time, I had no idea what the final image was to become... I just liked the hot and bright solitude of the place. I especially liked to path disappearing into the distance. Much later, the idea for the final image came to me when thinking of the nature of fate and destiny.
