Kristin Hatland is an exhibiting artist with a background that includes a BAA, Dip. Comp. Graphic Design and an HNC in Business alongside a personal and continued study of Philosophy. Abstract art fascinates and keeps her searching for a voice that attempts to produce works that elicits emotional responses from herself and then hopefully from the viewer. "Philosophy seeks via its many iterations to explain life. My art expresses elements within philosophy that resonates and that gives a purpose by providing stepping stones towards knowledge that will take any person onto their own path. And it is this, the viewer’s own interpretation that plays a key role in my work." The bastille from her plato’s cave series secured a place amongst the finalists and winners that toured New Zealand’s museums and art galleries under the care of Wallace Arts Trust. Her artworks are held in private collections in New Zealand and overseas.
