inspired by the natural environment in the city, and also by the dramatic cinematography of early black & white films, i have been walking and taking photographs as a virtual sketchbook of light and shadow. the photo sketches record the temporary results of an interaction between our artificial 'permanent' structures, and the dynamic structures of nature, which we experience as 'forces' in our greater environment. here then, is a 'symbolism of the insignificant', which in fact documents how our resistance is eventually overcome, and incorporated into a new creation, moment by moment. each of these photos will be a signed original, printed with archival pigment inks on heavy weight pure cotton paper. *in inches, the image area is 6 3/4 and 9, vertical or horizontal, with a border of 1.5, making the sheet size 9 3/4 and 12.
