ready Photograph

Lisa Nicoll is a multidisciplinary artist whose work involves the liminal, expressions of the feminine, and the belief that all space is sacred. Her images are highly worked photographs of both abstract and representational forms, and will often begin with something real: an aspect of nature, the home, the human form, the city. She works concurrently on a specific image and poem which becomes a dialogue between the visual and the verbal, two kinds of internal space. Her creative process is an endeavor to further enter, inhabit, and understand what is sacred, whether working in visual, literary, or musical arts. Her dramatic work has been seen at The York Theatre, Emerging Artists Theatre, and the Oxford Playhouse (UK). Her musical compositions have been performed at Backstage at 54 Below, and her fiction and poetry published by The Metropolitan Review and Poetlink.
