The picture, in which the unnervingly direct gaze of the model contradicts the playful conceit, explores the distorted, surreal and often inverted quality of dreams, daydreams and perception itself. As part of the "False Illusions" series, the picture interrogates the nature of reality, beauty and fantasy in the context of an apparently humdrum existence. The question is what is she dreaming of?
