This photographed is being offered in an edition of one (1) print. It's from 2013 and taken during my first re-visit to Ocean Beach (NJ) after Superstorm Sandy, where I had documented the architectural landscape of the hundreds of tiny beach houses and their often stuck-in-time interiors. This particular cottage was still standing despite being destroyed and would eventually be razed. Working at Ocean Beach, when I was first able to return after the storm, was both risky and creepy. Especially at night as there were still smoke alarms going off in dozens of cottages. I had to listen so I could avoid security and police that patrolled the area on a regular basis. I had to crawl into many of the cottages and hope they wouldn't collapse while I was inside. I had already photographed this cottage several times before the storm. Now I was fortunate that it was fully lit up by flood lights. Behind the cottage is the beach which of course is not visible. It's a rare nighttime photograph that made it into the book, titled Ocean Beach. It was published in 2014 by Kehrer Verlag.
