Emily Koonse is an award-winning storyteller working in photography, film and video. Her work has been exhibited around the United States and Europe. Photo exhibitions include: Sidney Larson Gallery in Columbia, Missouri, 5 Claude Lane in San Francisco, 1650 Gallery and Nomad Art Gallery in Los Angeles. Emily's recent photography work includes a photo essay entitled “Debra’s second chance”, completed at the Missouri Photo Workshop in 2014. One image from the series was selected as a finalist in the “Being Mother category of the Julia Margaret Cameron Gala award in 2015. Emily is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, with a BFA in film editing. As an editor, her first feature film was PEARL DIVER, garnered several festival awards including the Heartland Film Festival Crystal Heart Award. ​ As a collaborator, Emily works with a variety of industry story-tellers and producers, and continues to seek out independent and highly creative opportunities, taking on avant-garde scripts, personal documentary projects and unique art-video projects.
