About The Artwork

This artwork is part of a series called: "An oceanic aesthetic experience" Following the artistic tradition of ancestor masters of illustration and painting, emerges a combination of photography, illustration, and painting in one same artwork in final printmaking. The artworks are made on layers of textures of authentic ancient papers, parchments, and original papyri that are added to new forms generated, all of it based on a renewed vision of ecology from the aesthetic experience. The desire to spread the feeling of union with the ocean, animals, and nature in general, guide this project, which bases its premises on new knowledge in the brand new field of neuroaesthetics. In this project, art masters who were inspired by nature are revisited, while paying tribute to them. The newly created imagery seeks to provoke a feeling of calm and "mindfulness" in the viewer. Enabling the aesthetic experience and love towards our ecosystem, by freeing all conceptual judgment is one of the purposes of this series. You can see other works on my website (link in bio) in the Eco- #aestheticexperiences partition. With this work, I started the collection that already has six works to its credit. This Japanese engraving denotes a calm placidity that induces me to flow in the delight of its beautiful details, I have added other paper textures, a maritime photograph treated and digitally edited and I have joined these two elements to evoke that impermanence of water “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man” because “Nothing endures but change” according to Heraclitus, conjugated with the artistic essence of this Japanese master's artwork who digitally confirms, nevertheless, the permanence of the art tradition to this day. The validity of a creative mental state of flow and mindfulness that unites the artworks of artists through time and space is the only enduring evidence of this human evolution and transformation in time. My love for Japanese art (traditional and modern) is evidenced once again with this new artwork. Does it makes sense to you? and Does this image transmit calm to you?
