ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Original and unique screen-print on acetate paper which is then cut out and layered onto another screen-print on lithography paper, limited series of 14. I was experimenting with collage and screen print together to portray women in fashion images, make-up, still capturing a glamorous aesthetic but one that questions it at the same time. I wanted to use paper that had a glossy, plastic 'sheen' to resemble pages of a magazine.

My work has investigated the perceived negative and harmful side to the fashion and media industry as well as the hardship of being a woman within it. While at the same time being drawn to expressing and celebrating their empowerment and beauty.
