ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In the work "The Distant Wind", I tried to use the carving knife to present the unique sharpness of the intaglio language. By using the plastic paste to create various texture marks on the engraved plate according to the effect of the picture, you can also get depressions similar to those caused by corrosion of the copper plate. Using these depressions to rub ink and print, you can produce various irregular textures and impressions. These uneven texture traces will produce an uneven sense of fragmentation in the picture, which contrasts with the sense of order of the flat gradient background of multiple layers of superimposed oil prints. The mottled marks and the shape of the branches give people a sense of desolation. This sense of fragmentation reminds people of the withered glory and damage of life. The mottled texture produces a brilliant and sad beauty. This complex beauty can better reflect a kind of incomplete beauty. The picture looks quiet and expresses my mood.

As a printmaker, I believe that art is a powerful medium for exploring and expressing ideas. My work is deeply influenced by my cultural heritage, the beauty of nature, and my interpretation of the world around me. My inspiration comes from the ordinary moments that we often overlook. I find beauty in the details of life - the patterns in nature, the texture of a leaf, or the color of the sky. These elements serve as starting points for my creations, sparking my imagination and guiding me through the process of transforming them into works of art. At the core of my art is a blend of traditional Chinese philosophy and modern artistic practices. I draw inspiration from the principles of balance, harmony, and the idea of "nothingness" found in Chinese aesthetics. These concepts guide me in my choices of color, composition, and overall composition, aiming to create a sense of tranquility and harmony in my prints. I also seek to merge my cultural background with contemporary artistic movements. I am constantly inspired by the works of innovative artists from around the world, whose ideas and techniques inform my own creative practice. This fusion allows me to create prints that are authentic to my cultural identity while remaining relevant in a global context. My hope is that my art can evoke a sense of wonder and provoke thought in the viewer. I strive to create prints that offer a glimpse into the beauty that lies in the ordinary, and serve as a window into my cultural heritage and personal narrative. Ultimately, my goal is to connect with the viewer on a deeper level, sparking a resonance that transcends cultural divides.
