She is born in Okinawa in 1971, at the time part of the United States after World War II, a year before Okinawa was returned to Japan. She has resided in Belgium since 2010. She creates works using intaglio printing. Her perspective is expressed through her works, which recount the individual and collective memory of the land of Okinawa and the current social situation. She is in the midst of a journey searching for her identity. After moving to Europe, her works became even more closely linked to Okinawa. As an immigrant woman, living far from her homeland, her horizons have broadened, leading her to the concept of "shelter" (a place where one can feel safe), which is connected to themes of human rights, immigration, and environmental issues. She also produces two-dimensional works and installations, utilizing both the plurality and non-plurality of expression inherent in printmaking.
