About The Artwork
American Kestrel, Avian Etching w pastel tint created in 2007. These etchings are on 15" x11" sized archival printing papers (either vertical or horizontal in format) The plate image is 10" x 8". ALL of the birds are hand tinted with pastel. These hand pulled editions were never larger that 12. I drew, etched, printed, & tinted these ltd editions. Each is signed and numbered. Not sure which numbers remain of the 11 printed. Once the edition is done, the plate was struck to never be used again. I continually think what beauty would be lost if there were no more birds.

In 2019, I started to develop computer ideas which I could translate into paintings on silk. The silk paintings themselves are labor intensive but I enjoy tremendously learning new techniques and the producing something beautiful to the eye and touch. While working on these beautiful computer ideas, I decided that they too could adorn someone’s wall. My abstracts, whether computer art or earlier watercolors, are usually based on the familiar. It could evoke the environment or just a feeling.
