ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This print is a stylised depiction of a crucified woman. The central theme of it is the suffering of women. Nature is in mourning: dogs howl and birds fall from the sky. Snakes curl around and rear up to the woman, although it is not clear whether in a threatening or worshipful manner. In the print, the suffering of women, of mother earth, and of nature merge together.
