About The Artwork

12.5 cm x 17.5 cm with white border on Bristol Monotype 2024 "Maude n'attend personne" subtitle: “In her spare time, she crochets dresses for cats and drinks wisely sours" A lone French woman sits at a market in France. With a palette filled with blue where the past meets the present in a burst of hues. The title "Maude n'attend personne" (Maude waits for no one) could be sad or empowering. The unique monotype process adds depth and a rich painterly quality to this portrayal, making the transformation all the more visually compelling. I aim to create a fusion of memory and a sense of place in my creations. You can see my process of making monotypes on my TikTok @bluelavaart Flat on paper and signed.
