It's hand-printed on GF Smith Cream Munken original smooth 170gsm acid-free paper, sold unframed. The website image is created from a scan of the original screen-print. The colour and tone of each image may vary from the image shown, it may have signs of visible imperfections as each print is unique and created by hand. About - Pickering & Mayell LTD Ghost Sign, Photograph taken in 2020 in Hockley, Birmingham, UK. Photographed as part of a series called Birmingham Ghost Signs which documented Birmingham's last surviving fading hand-painting advertising signs typically painted by hand by a sign writer during the early twentieth century. Pickering & Mayell LTD was established in the early nineteenth Century and closed in the mid-1980s it's a Grade II listed building which is in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter the business closed in 2020. This artwork was featured in the Faded City exhibition in 2020, in Birmingham alongside a set of nine other Birmingham Ghost Signs.

Tracey is an artist who merges digital photography and alternative photographic processes, particularly cyanotype, to delve into the complexities of our connections with place, space, and memory. Her artistic works frequently explore the human-altered landscape, visual culture intertwined with textual layers rooted in specific locations, and the social histories entwined with the legacies of British colonisation. Tracey has a special interest in working with artifacts and found objects to uncover hidden or untold histories.
