I have always had a passion for vintage labels and all things tickets and now have a large collection which I have re created in my screen printing work over the years . These Pan Am luggage tags are the latest ones and I have been taken from the original ones which are small. I really like the simplicity of the designs which were perfect to create some large artworks which are big and bright. And after lock down when the world was beginning to travel once more it was inspiring to feel we could all jump on a plane again! They work well on their own or a few hung together in quite a bold statement. They are all limited editions only of either 5 or 25 depending on the destination.

Ella Freire is a London based screen printer / artist working from Delta house Studios in Wimbledon. She is represented by Air Contemporary Gallery in Soho, London. And will be having a Solo show with them running from the 6 - 22 June 2024. Ella is shortlisted with 2 of her Pan Am Luggage labels for the prestigious Royal Academy Summer Show 2024. Having completed a 2 year foundation course in Art and Design this led on to a career in Interior design, working for large residential properties both in London and abroad. Ella always wanted to go back and start screen printing again she took up a screen printing course at Putney School of Art and then decided to have a complete career change in 2011 and take a studio at Wimbledon Art Studios to start screen printing full time. Much of Ella's work is inspired by her love of vintage collections, especially the shape and style of the Art Deco era and has a big passion for classic cars. With this passion for the classics, Ella had been concentrating on her ever growing collection of limited edition prints and one off bespoke artwork pieces of classic cars and supercars for the last 10 years, where she has been using a different printing process alongside her screen printing . This enables her to highlight the specific areas of each car, in a simple deconstruction of colours. This is then built back up by using a layering mix of metallic, gloss and matt substrates. The prints are then framed in flame polished acrylic. Ella’s work is held in private collections world wide. She also takes on commissions for bespoke one off pieces for owners and dealers of classic and supercars. Ella has revisited her love of abstract painting a few years ago and also found time to get back to other subjects to screen print. She brought out her collection of Pan Am luggage tags from her large collection of vintage labels. They have been printed in a large format in only small limited editions. This alternative direction of new work has been very popular with a wider audience and has now encouraged her to continue creating these limited edition prints, along side the classic and super cars artwork which she is best known for in the automotive art world. Ella is licensed by Pan Am Brands to create these iconic and nostalgic luggage labels. ® Pan American World Airways, LLC
