This composition is inspired with quarry which I once visited in a search for marble for mosaic making. It was an old quarry, it looked almost abandoned, full of dirt. But around the perimeter of the quarry, in the bright summer sun, the stone glistened in orange tones. The graphic is printed in a technique called "colagraphy". The name comes from a word "collage" which is a main characteristic of the cliché from which is printed. Since there was no option to pick that technique, I will explain it here. It is an old technique where you use a cardboard as a base. Various materials that leave textures can be applied (like collage), or only a thick wood glue can be used (each move with a brush is later seen when printing). A drawing may also be engraved into which the paint is tinted. The excess color is removed. Wet paper is placed over the cliché and it all goes through the press. The orange surfaces were printed later, when the base is dry. The graphic is printed in only 5 copies, one of which is for sale (number of this print is - 4/5). Size of print is 35x55 cm on a paper 50x70 cm.
