Rocío Cloniet-Troc. Chilean Artist, based in France. Performance Designer and licensed in artistic education, the artistic work of Rocío, comes from her visual research that is born not only from the theater, but also from nature and pre-columbian culture. She works lithography, acrylic, watercolor, collage (analog and digital) in her studio located in Bois le Roi, France. Inquiries: Rocío grew up in Switzerland until the age of ten. She lived there with her family, near Lake Geneva in the countryside. In 1989, she came to live in Santiago de Chile. 1999-2003: She studied Performance Design at the University of Chile. In 2005 she trained as a Visual Arts Teacher at the PUC, graduating that same year. From 2003 onwards she worked with her company LA OTRA. She also worked with various companies and directors of independent professional theatre and on audiovisual projects, making some creations in the costume departments. Between 2006 and 2009, while she continued working in theatre, she taught classes at some Design Schools such as ARCOS and AIEP, teaching History of Costume, Visual Perception and Semiology of Fashion. In 2009 she won the Chile Scholarship Fund (CONICYT) to do the Master in Performing Arts at the Centre d'Études Théâtrales of the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. In this context, she will direct the short play by Beckett called Berceuse, which premiered in the same city. She will attend the staging of the play Dirty Weekend by the Belgian company GROUPOV, directed by Jacques Delcuvellerie, as well as other professional practices with directors such as: Pascal Crochet (RW-I) and Lorent Wanson (Historia Abierta). Her thesis is entitled: “Towards a new awareness of reality in contemporary staging”, one of its chapters was translated into Spanish and published in the magazine Cátedra de las Artes in 2012. That same year she returns to Santiago de Chile, where she continues working with companies and independent directors such as: Rodrigo Susarte, Mauricio Quevedo and Luis Barrales among others. In 2012 she premieres Maquina Hamlet, directed by Quevedo; In 2014, Ghost Road II (Children of Nowhere) directed by Fabrice Murgia, with the ARTARA company, premiered in Santiago de Chile and re-staged in several European countries from 2015 to date; in 2015, she premiered La Sangre de los Árboles (directed and written by Luis Barrales) and La Nueva Familia, directed by Rodrigo Susarte and written by Gerardo Oettinger.
