Shot to Pieces 'I' Print

I made a series of prints based around similar themes. This work was inspired when watching how women try to walk in the 'New' high heels, with incredible high wedges, the feet burning inside, while the shoes are supposed to make women 'look' and 'feel' sexy. I took this idea further by looking at the high heel shoe as a metaphor for how women can be constrained, while the action of being 'off balance' echoes and reflects how equality continues to be an unresolved issue at the forefront of women's politics.
