Astrid Engels is a well known artist/painter from the Netherlands. In 1965 Astrid Engels participated in television programs about ancient Egypt and in particular pharaoh Tutankhamon. Her colorful paintings reflect the magic touch of ancient cultures. During the period 1984 to 1999, she exhibited in galleries in the Netherlands and abroad. In 1992, she was awarded the Movado Museum Prize. On May 17, 2009 Astrid Engels was awarded Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. From 2000 onwards she exhibits and sells her paintings and lithographs exclusively through her own gallery in the Dutch city of Huizen and her website .
