Two Rains (score for two guitars) Print - Limited Edition of 5

Developed from a soundwalk drawing created in the rain (location: Barbican, London EC1Y), this visual score is intended for two guitarists to interpret (transpose). This is a variable edition of 5 handprinted woodcuts on Kozo Natural 46gsm Japanese paper. This washi paper made by Awagami is a traditional printmaking paper that is very strong (as it has long fibres), and can withstand burnishing (printing) by hand. The prints have been printed with graphite relief ink. I founded The Visual Score Project at the end of 2021 as an opportunity to collaborate with fellow musicians through an exploration of mark making. The multiplicity of printmaking has enabled me to share my work as a visual score, to be exchanged for a sonic interpretation of the original soundwalk.
