I work primarily with wood, constructing medium to large scale, two-and three-dimensional objects on which I paint, cut and engrave using mixed techniques. The occurrences in my work are located in a world of fantasy which goes beyond the mundane reality, thereby striving to enable viewers to examine the story from the outside, and from another perspective. My paintings are typified by strong materiality and coloration, using acrylic, markers, graphite and charcoal, as well as text and cartoon-like figures which convey existential themes. My artistic language corresponds with popular culture, science and film. It responds to universal and current affairs and reflects a critical stance towards political-economic-social power apparatuses. "YOU ARE HERE" 2020-2021 Is a series of works inspired by scientific and fictional events dealing with the journey of humanity in space.
