ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The images in the series are inspired by the concept of yin- yang in Chinese philosophy. The portrait of the unidentified girl symbolises the opposite or contrary forces which are actually complementary, interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. I have used the medium of silkscreen in an expressive rather than flat style to create images with unique colours and marks. The images are printed on archive quality paper.The title of the work was chosen by the reflective and peaceful facial expression that appeared when the image was printed.
