1840 French Neo-Rococo Sculpture

TAYLOR HOLLAND / b.1971, USA American artist living between Paris, France and Austin,Texas exploring the nexus of technological domains and physical reality through sculpture, web sites, paintings, photography, video, animations, and screenshots. Notable projects include: Fra[mes]: An ongoing collaboration between artist, computer, and master craftsman where hand-selected antique frames are filled with their own content using custom molds built from digital processes. EuroBus: A series of 1200+ photographs of tourist bus graphics shot in Paris, France. This work examines the place of anonymously authored, mobile artworks in the vernacular of European graphic design. Vector Fields: Seven net.art sites whose conceptual origins lie in an invented digital process, exploring what happens when the boundaries of sport are manipulated through play. Holland’s work has been exhibited globally, and featured by Instagram, The Creators Project, CNN, L’Oeil, La Gaîté Lyrique Magazine, VICE, BoingBoing, BOOOOOOOM!, It’s Nice That, Design Observer, Eye Magazine, Deadspin, and Counter-Print, while also making guest appearances on TV channels France 2, M6 France, and RTV Nord-Holland.
