«ADAM AND EVE» 2020 Each part of diptych 107x64x6 сm Chipboard, acrylic, led-lighting My artistic practice is based on the interpretation of ancient symbols and sacred objects into modern semantic forms. I believe that we must analyze our past in order to determine who we are, where we came from and where we are going. «ADAM AND EVE» is a diptych depicting the sacred side of the Eneolithic era. I wanted to show the close connection of the people of that culture with nature and the sun. The rusty background symbolizes the passage of time and its irreversibility. The gray figures themselves, like a stone, keep the secrets of bygone civilizations. The works were created on chipboard. The figures of people, as well as the sun, are carved on wood and have a volumetric texture. The work has a built-in LED illumination under the human figures. When you turn on the highlight, the shapes are separated from the background by the glow and create the appearance of layering. Without the illumination on, the figures also look three-dimensional and are shaded from the background due to their location at a certain distance from the background board. The back provides a standard mount in the form of metal rings, allowing you to hang work on the wall. The set includes electric wires.
