Art Description

Sculpture: Bronze on Bronze.

This represents the moment of departure to another land, a young woman saying goodbye to her land, her family, in search for a better life. This is an allegory of the Emigrant, her pain and hope; looking back for the last time while about give the first step into a new country.
This sculpture is inspired in the story of Ruth, a young widow, who leaves her place of birth to go to a foreign country. This story is found in the Book of Ruth of the Hebrew Bible.
