ABOUT THE ARTWORK
After the Rain is an edition of eight variations. Each is the same shape but the upper bronze part is differently patinated and each time the mounting varies. The raised bronze patterns are finely rubbed and lacquered and each are mirrored as if the pattern goes through from side to side. The bronze part rotates on the yew base allowing the sculpture to be set at any angle. Flowing patterns in water are a constant fascination and this was inspired by water flowing over tarmac in a country lane.
