-Alif for Tim- (war club) Sculpture

From the series "Struggle", these works are a tribute to the archetype of the warrior in the context of the spiritual war that is waged in every human heart in the path of liberation. The great spiritual traditions of our world agree that this is the case and the series travels across cultures to make this point. Another term used in this context is the Arabic word "Jihad", a struggle inherent to the human condition, transcending the confines of religious dogma or cultural specificity. This spiritual endeavour calls upon individuals to engage in a profound introspection, to grapple with the complexities of moral decision-making, and to strive for ethical excellence in the face of adversity. It is a journey fraught with challenges and pitfalls, yet one that offers the promise of inner peace, moral clarity, and spiritual enlightenment to those who embark upon it with sincerity and resolve. This piece represents an object associated with the theme of the body of work, the idea of struggle or conflict, in this case a club or rustic weapon while making a reference at the same time in its form to the Alif or letter A of the Arabic alphabet, questioning in this way the definition of a weapon and presenting an alternative.
