About The Artwork
I am originally from Texas but have lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years. This is a view of the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin, TX at sunset when over a million Mexican free-tailed bats leave en masse to feed. My sculptural work is piñata-based. This piece is from my Painting Piñata series where I layer and blend hand-cut crepe paper to 'paint' on the surface of the painting form.
