About The Artwork
After my studio computer was fried in a lightning strike nearby, I cannibalized the circuit board and added the mouth. Copper leafed the result and applied numerous applications of verdigris patina. Fitted various found objects (watch parts, plastic lenses, toothed saw blade, wire, blue glass marble) and then fitted it into a warped shadowbox frame which I then modified with wood dowels and painted with metallic pigments to create rust and appearance of corrosion. Final step was to sandblast patterns in the glazing of the frame.
