ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have been exploring the concept between flow, balance and strength within figurative forms in some recent pieces that I have been working on. Balance in Green is an example of this and is part of a series of acrobatic dancers that are part of this concept. Each supports its own frame, showing strength and resilience. The marks on the surface represent the knowledge and scars that are formed as we grow and experience life and all that it encompasses. It is not always easy, but it is what eventually makes us stronger and more determined to succeed. The piece is all about gaining knowledge and growing from this knowledge, becoming internally strong through experience. It is strength, endurance and perseverance, within a feminine elegance.
