Born in Duivendrecht near Amsterdam (1956), at the moment living in Zundert. I chose my name Mieke 'van Zundert' as I think an artist must have some roots. I'm not working like Van Gogh ( Zundert is the village he was born) but he is an inspiration for me. I draw, describe, feel, photographe, but most of all, paint portraits of 'people' and people in 'people situations'. Further, I like to paint plein air, streets, landscapes, or animalscapes :) , but almost allways, people appear in them. So, most of all I'm a portrait painter. Also , I build sculptures out of arcylised paper in mille feuille technic. These sculptures are, just as my paintings, mainly about 'people' And sometimes: there is this other site of me: Mariarty. She suddenly appears ,and makes me reveil very different artwork. It is philosofic, it is abstract. It is strange, but still: a part of me.
