ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Once a gardener gave me a trunk of a birch and asked if it's would be possible to make a sculpture of it. I was interested but it lied on a place without electricity. O.k. I said to me, I will work only by hand. Birch wood is not very hard but I needed some months to finish it. I wanted to make a complex organic sculpture like my master piece of my woodsculptures. It's really my masterpece and a magic dream of a wood sculpture. It is stained with marble powder. So its very light and it's a good protection for the wood. The sculpture is less suitabel for outside because in spite the protection moisture is not good for it.

First I wanted to become a scientist but than I studied fine arts. I'm working as a sculpor and painter but sometimes there are also land-art projects. I'm teaching at a small artschool for young people at Donaueschingen. My artworks seems to be abstract, but there is a inspirition from nature. I'm often on the way observing their colors and shapes Also mathematics and music plays an important role. Sometimes I use wood and stones to make improvised music.
