Bowling pins, vintage window cranks, tuning fork, paint brush, crescent wrench, spark plugs, ignition crank, thermometer, candy tins, brass wool, vintage bottle caps, pudding molds, light bulb, flash bulb. Bob Bolin has been a ‘car guy’ since he was a kid; he loves buying them, driving them, fixing them, and racing them, so no one was surprised that he became a Master Mechanic. Bob was a confirmed bachelor into his early 40’s, until he met Betty. Bob met Betty at the Bowl & Board, back when it was on Main Street in Vineyard Haven. He first noticed her curly golden locks and her hourglass figure. Bob was smitten; he immediately asked her out, and took her to Nancy’s, where they bonded over their shared love of onion rings and clam strips as well as their disdain for candlepin bowling. By the end of lunch, Bob knew he could stare into her deep blue eyes forever. Luckily Betty felt the same way; Bob was a cocky, boisterous mechanic, the yang to her yin, as Betty was a quiet and somewhat shy artist, musician and chef. It was obvious to her how to turn him on, and he instinctively knew how to make her hot. After a whirlwind romance, they were married at My Toi on Chappy, followed by a clambake on East Beach. Twenty years later, they remain inseparable, and return to My Toi every year on their anniversary.

David Joseph is an artist, physician, engineer and inventor who lives on Martha’s Vineyard and in Naples, Florida. As an artist, David’s primary media are found object art and photography. An avid international traveler, he has visited over 120 countries on all seven continents, all 50 states, and over 250 UNESCO world heritage sites, each destination an opportunity to photograph nature, wildlife, and portraits. Unable to travel during Covid, David saw the potential to create art from the mundanity around him. He began to create found object sculptures made of old or used common household items, toys, and sports equipment. Each whimsical, thought-provoking piece displays the balanced composition of a trained artist and the skilled construction of an engineer.
