About The Artwork
Women are historically underrepresented in management positions and in high offices. I did this piece when the Equal Rights Amendment was being debated in states. It seemed to me that women were at least as capable as men. In the sculpture, rather than a male lion tamer,there is a female lion tamer. The brave girl has trained a lion to hold a snake in its mouth and jump through a flaming hoop of fire,an astonishing feat!.
