ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work was inspired by the Moravian tile works of Henry Mercer. It suggests an Italian landscape with bridges, steams, fields and forests. The composition brings to mind Paul Klee's gridded paintings and drawings. The ceramic tile is mounted on wood in a shadowbox style and is framed in a contemporary wooden frame with highlighted edges. Each glaze is an original formula. The artwork comes wired and ready to hang.
