About The Artwork
The Burning Log is a regular still life albeit rethought. Watching the ever changing, energetic burning of wood mesmerizes. At the blink of an eye nothing changes, yet the viwer realizes the decay of matter happening before their eyes. These observations led me to sculpt and paint the Burning Log in which the flaming energy conducted through color is frozen in time.
