My work shows a lot of hands. Since I was young i have been fascinated by all forms of hands. I allways look to peoples hands because
they are maybe besides the face the most expressive part of the bodey. Also they give us the possability to communicate
in an archetypical way without spoken language.
This hand seems to ask to wait and to look to his old bysantian ornamentation which seem to crawl between the fingers.

After graduated art school I stopped painting,to go in sculpturing completely.I made several expositions ( groupe and solo) with drawings and sculptures of stone. Museum of modern art Arnhem, W139 Amsterdam,The living room Amsterdam, Jan Cunen Museum Oss, RAI Amsterdam, van Abbehuis Eindhoven. Also worked in commission of several community's and company 's. Arnhem,Beuningen,Oss,Moerdijk,Doetinchem, Rotterdam. These were mostly monumental works in stone. For some impressions After 25 years of sculptures I felt the desire to let float fields of colour and light, in order to sharpen my view. Sculpturing is a work to dig under the skin in an attempt to approach the origin of things: looking at things from their inside. Painting is a work of reinventing light, in order to let yourself overwhelm with apearance. Looking at a landscape for a long time can result in the apearance of God, and gives peace with everything in it. Watercolour is a medium without substance, so there is no question about modeling texture and so on. It is like film, it is close to projection and because of that close to how you can dream. Just a few dreamed pictures are enough to let overwelm you and sink down in impressions and emotions. I write my dreams for many years now and when I read them back ,even those of twenty years ago, the first few words are enough to experience back the whole dream with all the details. Thats how I like a good painting to be; a few dots and spots, carefully layed down. A field of colour and someone can experience the whole place , with smell and noises all together. I want to make resources of my work available to other people not to show that I am the painter, but to let them share in this inner experience.
