About The Artwork

Ceramic sculpture, part of my Stone Series. The series takes a turn toward stacked stones and the theme of permanence. I am trying to turn the cairn or pile of river stones from something absolutely temporary into something that lingers. A pile of river stones stacked in situ may last for but a moment. They are entirely of their place in material as well being beholden to the vagaries of nature. Made of clay and glazed. Fired to roughly 2100 degrees Fahrenheit.
